DisCO Dating/Mentoring day to day

WHAT IS CLEAR

  • This section explains the day to day rhytms of the future disconauts that have started the mentoring process. These are the following:
  • (Describes what Dating actually "looks like". Calls, looking at the Matrix, Screencast tutorials, asking in MM etc)
  • Different for each Dater.
  • Check ins, rhythm (timeline)
  • Mentoring Matrix
  • Suggest "visits" to circles or sprints
  • Highlight the human factor
  • Having specific training on language that addresses power imbalanace (AMU comment during Zafra)
  • this is a list of rhythms
  • from phase 1 to 3
  • we could include a timeline
  • this is a narrative example/s of this section (how it would be in practice for different individua;s members of the NP)

WHAT IS UNCLEAR

this is only for potential disconauts engaged in a mentoring process?? do we need a list of chapters/topics of the mentoring programme at thsi stage? or a link to them? timeline

FEEDBACK

WAY FORWARD

WHO WRITES

Completion of Stage 3 vs Full membership

  • Explain the diffs
    • As mentioned before, someone may complete all Dating Stages in 3 or 6 months, but 9 months is sufficient time to see whether relationshios work once the honey moon phase is over and true mutual support over common challenges is needed etc

Dating Phase TLDR

  • Go through whole section and make bullet point TLDR with indents

Being a DisCONaut

What do DisCONauts do?

DisCONaut Rhythms and Budget Allocation

  • Mention thresholds
  • Mention Sabbaticals as an option
  • Core/Regulars/BackUp
  • Distinguish between Full/half time and "regulars" and "on demand" level

DisCONaut Ongoing Requirements

  • ADAPT FROM GMC (link above)
  • Also clarify diff between Starting Requirements, Dating Stages, Ongoing Responsibilities and Commitment Statement )(May already be present in Mentoring matrix section, maybe needs diagram)

  • GT LINK: Being a Guerrilla Translator The content of this GT section is now split between this "Working in DisCONP" Top LEvel Heading and the being a DisCONaut" subheading above.
  • Explain that this is an overview, full details available on each DisCO's own Handbook and wiki

Community Algorithmic Trust

DisCO.NP Legal and/or Advisory Board

  • GT LINK: Stakeholder board Needs major update' In GT it's mostly about voting and little else.

Clear Communication and Boundaries

Styles and Communication and Diversity

Clarity, Boundaries and Consent

Non Violent Communication

  • (Mention Focusing for Mutual Support)

Giving Feedback

  • Don't be an ass, passive aggresive or give feedback on other members public channels. Approach the person directly
  • Better to stress follow through of Commitment Statement and Mentoring Matrix, rhythms etc. Nasty feedback is usually due to poor communication, commitments and rhythms.
